Michael Moebius is perhaps better known as the ‘Bubblegum artist’. Not because he’s particularly sweet or likely to pop. Quite the opposite; within Michael Moebius lies the rich talent of an extraordinary painter and a photographer with a keen eye.

Moebius is a very interesting character; almost like a rock star of the art world. Moebius’ unique work is making waves in the contemporary art investment scene. His works constantly grace international magazine covers; Moebius has twice been featured on the world’s ultimate luxury magazine, The Robb Report – a huge achievement for any artist.

In 2014, the magazine even rated Moebius’ art top pick in their ‘Ultimate Gift Guide’. The German contemporary artist also has a shrewd business brain. Moebius counts Playboy, Procter & Gamble, Laura Biagiotti, Vogue and Vanity Fair amongst his close partners, publishers and collectors.

Over the years, Moebius has developed his style to include well-known pop-art figures including Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. His most popular works, though, practically cover these famous faces with large, soft bubblegum bubbles.

While Moebius has featured in numerous international exhibitions, he began his career in engineering and construction. Michael, though, soon decided that figurative art would be central to his life’s work.

He started studying painting at the academy of arts in Dresden and got his big break in 1998. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Michael was able to make his way to the United States where he refined and expanded on his creative talents as a painter and photographer. Moebius quickly became a sought-after favourite of collectors.

His profile continues to rise, too, thanks to Moebius gaining traction and attention from some of the planet’s most recognisable celebrities. Mel Gibson and Paris Hilton are fans of Moebius, as is KISS frontman Gene Simmons, Hugh Hefner, Rihanna and David Guetta.

His natural attraction to the celebrity elite and his association with them helps make Moebius a contemporary art investment favourite.  Importantly he has a wide appeal to all ages.

Putting your art investment fund into original Moebius works

His most popular pieces, Marilyn Monroe, and Audrey Hepburn, have featured in various international publications.  His bubblegum artwork of HM The Queen ‘has become as new favourite with collectors in the UK and internationally.

These art investment favourites are also a window into Moebius’ personality and creative vision, as he equates the piece with the phrase ‘Being Normal is Boring’.

There’s nothing boring about Moebius’ works. His commercial abilities and attributes in partnering with some of the world’s most popular names also means he should be a serious contender for attention for those looking into the world of art investment.

Michael Moebius’ real talent lies in turning pop-art and popular culture on its head with striking, almost innocent symbolism. Unlike a bubble, he continues to expand and shows no sign of bursting, such is his mass appeal and key movements in the world of celebrity. Moebius’ work can only increase in value in the future.
