David Yarrow:
"Monument Valley has to be one of the most visually intoxicating sights in the US, and a truly timeless vista that screams “The Wild West”. The location was used in Forrest Gump and then provided the front cover to Ridley Scott’s Thelma and Louise, which gave me the inspiration for this shoot.
Realising this photograph was no small task. We arrived on site two days before the shoot to prepare. I want to thank Brawler Productions in LA for helping us to secure exclusive use of the busy road at the key time, from 7.40 to 8am, when there is a generous amount of soft light. The wolf's behaviour was an important variable, but Josie Canseco played her role brilliantly - it was not easy to look that glamorous and in charge with a wolf sitting in Thelma’s seat. It was a great team effort in a fairly remote part of the American West.
We first showed this picture in late September and the reaction was huge. It's a very special image and we nailed it".
