NHS GIFT FOR HEROES
For generations to come, 2020 will always be the year of the NHS. A year where health workers pulled together under immense pressure to safeguard the nation and combat COVID-19. Inspired by the unwavering dedication and selflessness of our NHS staff, many members of the public have expressed their gratitude by giving back; be it through volunteering, making PPE from home or simply donating from afar. One such individual is celebrity hairdresser, Adee Phelan.
Adee initially launched a fundraiser called NHS Gift for Heroes with the idea of gifting hair and beauty products to frontline workers as a token of our public gratitude. Today, Adee has independently secured £1.7 million in product donations, in addition to creating and delivering over 23,566 gift boxes.
I want to thank everyone for supporting our NHS during these extremely difficult and tiring times. I never expected to receive praise when I chose this career. However, this year has been like no other and we have all faced our own challenges. We are all in the same storm but in a different boat! Stay strong, keep smiling, it won't be forever, we will get through this together and to every key worker out there, thank you, you are doing an amazing job!
As his mission to support the NHS continues, we are delighted to share the launch of a special series of portraits taken by globally renowned photographer, Rankin, and featuring seven NHS heroes from across the country. Displayed exclusively in Maddox Gallery, the series is both a proud celebration of the talented individuals we have working for our NHS and a reminder that not only the lives of the public have been lost.
Adee continues to raise funds to produce gift boxes to distribute to NHS staff across the country. To support this initative, we invite you to click on the images below, discover the stories of each individual and donate to this worthwhile cause.
