Maddox Gallery announces latest exclusive print release from The Connor Brothers. An edition of 95 limited prints of ‘All She Wanted Was To Be Someone’s Precious Person’ launches on 2nd December.
The inspiration behind the work, a pigment print with silkscreen, was born at a poignant time. Upon the death of his father, Mike Snelle explored the unique connections between melancholy and his craft, suffusing this piece with a deep awareness of the mutability of life and the inevitable cycle of birth and death, loss and gain.
“I wrote this quote a few weeks after my dad died. My parents met as teenagers and were married for over thirty years and I was thinking how all-consuming Mum’s grief must be. We were talking about it and she told me that although the loss was impossibly difficult she was actually very lucky. All she’d ever wanted was to be someone’s most precious person, and for thirty years, she was. It struck me that’s all anyone really wants“
