Coco Dávez at Maddox Gallery Westbourne Grove

Coco Dávez was recently named by Forbes as one of the most influential artists in the world. Ahead of ‘Faceless’, her first solo exhibition in the UK, Maddox Gallery visitors have a chance to meet the iconic artist in person.

Coco Dávez (Valeria Palmeiro, Madrid, 1989) will be attending two intimate book signings and talks at Maddox Gallery Westbourne Grove at 4pm – 7pm Friday 10th May, and 12pm-1.30pm Saturday 11th May.

Universally recognised for her vibrant style, Dávez has previously collaborated with a number of luxury brands including Chanel, Dior, Prada, Vogue, Kenzo, Shiseido, Bombay Sapphire and Nespresso.

‘Faceless’ considers society’s obsession with popular culture and celebrity. Bright, larger than life canvases feature the outlines of icons ranging from Frida Kahlo and David Hockney to Amy Winehouse and David Bowie.

Dávez pays homage to the Fauvist artists who inspire her practice, combining elements of Neorealism and Pop Art. The absence of facial features adds a semi-abstract layer to each painting, and immediately invites the viewer to partake in a game of “Guess Who?”

We proudly invite you to attend ‘Faceless’, showing at Maddox Gallery Westbourne Grove 10th – 31st May.
