Join artist Ruth Pastine for an informal walk through of her latest paintings as featured in ‘Inner Eye’, a curated exhibition of works by both Ruth Pastine and Sali Muller which celebrates the legacy of the seminal Light and Space movement.

In concurrence with Frieze LA, the Californian-based artist will be sharing personal insights into her disciplined process and career-long study of the phenomenology of color perception and its limitless possibilities.

Ruth Pastine was born and raised in New York City and received her B.F.A. from Cooper Union in 1987. Upon graduation, she was awarded a research grant to the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. She received her M.F.A. from Hunter College of the City University of New York in 1993 where she focused on painting, color theory and critical studies. Her works have been widely exhibited in 23 solo exhibitions and 55 group shows in public institutions, such as MOAH Lancaster Museum of Art and History, Lancaster, CA and CAM Carnegie Art Museum, Oxnard, CA. Numerous public and corporate collections have holdings of her work, including The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; MCASD Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego; The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; AXA Art, Cologne; and PIMCO Global Headquarters, Newport Beach, to name a few. Honors and awards include the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts Grant and a large-scale public commission for the lobbies of Ernst & Young Plaza in downtown Los Angeles. Pastine currently lives and works in Southern California.
