About the work
The Statesman II
David Yarrow:
"We delayed releasing this image because it felt so surreal that I needed time to think about what to write. On the hand hand, it's a straight-forward portrait of an adult male polar bear, but on the other hand, there is fine detail in this study. He was totally comfortable with my presence, which allowed me to inch closer and wait for head-on eye to eye contact to stare into his unique world.
In his eyes I see wisdom, security and governance. He is totally in control and has all the answers, almost like a therapist. It’s a fireside chat at the top of the world with a Statesman".
