The Last Dance
David Yarrow:
"This might be the last time I'll try this ground-up, immersive approach on an African river bank. When the adult hippo got up to charge, I had to move a little too quickly, and it wasn't a very comfortable moment.
The photograph was taken in Ruaha in Tanzania as the last frame in that sequence. We are told that the human’s eyes are the windows to the soul; I believe these hippo eyes are quite instructive too, as is the water swell around this massive, advancing body. What an immense animal!"
