The artist reminds the viewer of their important childhood years through the creation of colourful characters and endearing memories. His style is optimistically vibrant, allowing us to explore each corner of his creations, reminding us how important it is to enjoy life.
The notion of childhood is a key element in the artists body of work, portraying it through evoking different feelings: joy, sadness, fear, hope, the list goes on. Oscar explores how our earliest memories connect us to others, and as we grow older, they become more subtle and complex, with nostalgia accompanying us into our adult life. We long for the days of innocence, the simplicity of childhood, which Oscar captures this thoroughly in his drawings.

NOSTALGIA
The feelings of childhood are intense and powerful, capable of leaving us breathless in an instant and making us feel completely overwhelmed. Joy can be exuberant, sadness can be heartbreaking, and fear can be paralyzing. In our childhood, we are vulnerable and dependent on others to meet our emotional and physical needs. Therefore, our earliest memories are imbued with a sense of connection to others, a feeling of security, and a sense of belonging. As we grow older, our emotions become more subtle and complex, but the feeling of nostalgia often becomes a companion in adult life. As we move away from the innocence and simplicity of childhood, it can be difficult not to feel a kind of longing for those days.
Nostalgia can manifest in many ways, from sadness to happiness, from warmth to melancholy. But regardless of how it is expressed, it is a reminder that time passes and that we will never be as young and naive as we once were. Nostalgia can be a powerful force that takes us back to our most cherished and painful memories. Through it, we can relive happy moments and experience the joy of shared moments with those we love. But it can also make us feel deep sadness and a sense of loss, reminding us that life is fleeting and that we can never reclaim what we have lost. Still, nostalgia can also be an inspiring force, reminding us of how much we have lived and how much we still have to live.
