About the work

Barcode (Unsigned)

Barcode was first seen on the side of a residential home on Pembroke Road in Bristol. Experts have interpreted this artwork as explicit criticism of how humanity uses animals for their own entertainment. As a clear symbol of consumerism, the barcode acts as a cage on wheels from which a leopard has scaped.

Barcode’s signed prints of 150 are auctioned with an average price of 38% above the unsigned 600 editions. Additionally, the prints with the Banksy stamp in red ink have historically shown a value +20% above those signed in pencil or black ink.
