Art Miami 2025: Booth AM225
VIEW WORKS ON DISPLAY
Maddox Gallery returns to Booth AM225 with works by Will Martyr, The Connor Brothers, RETNA, Cooper, Dairo Vargas and Nick Grindrod, in its sixth appearance at the fair.
The gallery underscores the importance of seeing art in person at a time when more encounter it on screens. The gallery brings its cinematic approach to Art Miami, transforming their booth into a space where established names meet new perspectives. Visitors will find a signature mix of colour, scale and storytelling – works that balance artistic craft with immediacy. The Connor Brothers will attend on select days, and Will Martyr will also join, where visitors can meet the artists in person.
“Nothing replaces the moment when a collector stands before a work and feels its energy,” said Nick Sharp, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Maddox Gallery. “Our return reflects a belief that art should be seen, not scrolled; that genuine connection still matters.”
“The booth brings together text, vibrancy and space, from RETNA’s rhythmic abstraction and Cooper’s vibrant still lives to The Connor Brothers’ cultural wit and Will Martyr’s serene geometry,” said Fi Lovett, Global Gallery Director. “Together they highlight the conversations shaping contemporary art today.”
The return comes as the city has established itself as a global art hub, a crossroads for collectors, curators and creators from both sides of the Atlantic, bolstered by Art Basel and the thriving Wynwood scene. The presentation builds on a year of new projects for the gallery’s artists across London and its new presence in Dubai, reflecting a growing dialogue between the regions. At Art Miami, the booth will spotlight works that combine physical craftsmanship with conceptual precision, a balance that defines the gallery’s approach.
This year, the gallery is focusing on the visitor’s experience, encouraging collectors to slow down and spend time with each work. The booth’s design invites ‘slower looking’, with artworks rich in texture and visual rhythm replacing the endless scroll of digital feeds. It’s a reflection of the gallery’s belief in returning to presence, a sentiment that runs through its tenth-anniversary year.
Since debuting at Art Miami in 2017, including the $4 million sale of Banksy’s ‘Charlie Brown’ during the 2021 VIP preview, the gallery has built lasting connections between European and U.S. collectors. Its past presentations have paired established figures with emerging voices, treating art as both cultural currency and personal expression. This year’s showing builds on that record and underscores the enduring value of experiencing art in real space.
