INAE: Field of Memory
Field of Memory is INAE’s first solo exhibition in the United Kingdom, bringing together new paintings from two strands of her practice.
The series Memory reimagines lived moments, while Reverence looks forward using abstraction. Across both, INAE demonstrates how painting can hold time: from the known past to the open horizon of the future.
In Memory, fireworks, reeds by water, quiet lakes and fields of flowers are reassembled as sensations, where rhythm, atmosphere, and afterglow endure. Reverence turns towards possibility, keeping form open and inviting the viewer’s own recollection and hopes.
In The Moment of Eternity the largest work on view, colour builds and unfolds, becoming a conduit for emotion. Here, memory is carried by soft light that changes with place, and by a steady, enduring passage through time.
For this exhibition, INAE introduces a more lustrous use of gold, a colour that carries comfort and care, but also longing and ambition. Under soft illumination the surfaces feel calm and meditative; in brighter light the gold advances, revealing delicate shifts of hue and tone. In Memory, details glint like fragments of recall. INAE sustains balance, allowing meanings to shift with each encounter, so that the warmth of memory can inform what lies ahead.
Each canvas through gradual layers applied over time, alternating translucent veils, so that depth and sheen become integral to the composition. The process leaves subtle traces of earlier gestures, allowing the surface to register both the artist’s hand and the passage of time. Every work responds to its surroundings, changing as light moves across.
Seasonal Opening Hours: the gallery will be closed from 22nd December at 6pm and will reopen 5th January at 10am.
