On Saturday 2nd March, renowned Italian artist Simafra spoke at Maddox Gallery's flagship gallery at 9 Maddox Street, Mayfair. We invited visitors to join us for the free event and hear from the incredible contemporary talent, who will be discussing his artistic process, inspirations and ambitions for future works.
Here at Maddox Gallery, we endeavour to make the contemporary art world more accessible to our visitors. We're therefore delighted to host Simafra - also known as Riccardo Prosperi - whose art features in leading interior design magazines including Elle Décor (USA), as well as prestigious collections owned by the Lebanese Minister of Finance, the Prince of Qatar and Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz.
Meet the award-winning artist from Florence whose rich colour palette, incredible layered textures and sumptuous use of gold leaf reminds many of Klimt. Luckily for keen collectors, Simafra has not yet reached the heights of Klimt's record-breaking Sotheby's auctions. However, it is the considered opinion of James Nicholls, Maddox Gallery Chairman, that Simafra has the potential to become a major artist of our times.
Simafra is making a big impact in the art world with his rich and expressive oil paintings inspired by nature. Maddox Gallery presented Eden, Simafra's first ever solo exhibition in the UK, in 2017. Since then, his works have continued to attract plenty of attention and praise in our galleries across London, and most recently in LA.
