This October, Maddox Gallery London presents ‘David Yarrow: The Collection’, a career-defining David Yarrow exhibition unveiled across two Maddox locations. Coinciding with Frieze Week and featuring an exclusive David Yarrow book signing and artist walk-through, the retrospective highlights the photographer’s unrivalled storytelling and growing stature as a blue-chip investment.
Unveiled simultaneously across our Maddox Street and Shepherd Market galleries, ‘David Yarrow: The Collection’ opens on 17 October 2025. Anticipated to be one of our most-visited exhibitions of the year, the opening is timed to coincide with Frieze Week in the city.
'David Yarrow: The Collection' represents a watershed moment in the British photographer’s career. The exhibition features 33 photographs, staged across three thematic acts. From hard-earned wildlife encounters in Alaska and Africa to wolves prowling saloons, Wall Street excess and dreamscapes of Ferraris and supermodels, the show is Yarrow’s boldest statement to date. The accompanying David Yarrow coffee table book, hailed as the photography book of the year, expands on this narrative, with 150 images offering an even broader retrospective of his work.
For collectors, the exhibition underlines Yarrow’s growing stature as a blue chip art investment. His small-run editions frequently sell out, with recent auction results surpassing estimates—some by more than 90%. Backed by a collector base that spans celebrities and cultural icons, this latest David Yarrow exhibition marks a pivotal moment in his journey.
For four decades, David Yarrow has been taking photographs, covering everything from the wild grandeur of nature to cinematic stagings with some of the biggest celebrities. He first came to international attention at just 20 years old when he shot Diego Maradona lifting the 1986 FIFA World Cup Final trophy, an iconic image that set him on the path to becoming one of the world’s most collected photographers. Since then, his career has taken him from the Arctic ice to the African savannah, from Wall Street boardrooms to epic sets in the desert.
Among his most celebrated works are 78 Degrees North (2017), a striking David Yarrow photo of a polar bear in Svalbard; The Wolves of Wall Street I (2019), featuring Jordan Belfort and signed by both Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese; and Unforgiven (2020), starring Cindy Crawford in a sweeping reimagining of America’s Wild West. Each image demonstrates Yarrow’s unique blend of meticulous planning, daring vision and narrative power.
Technically, Yarrow is uncompromising. He often photographs from low angles with custom-built camera housings, using the sharpness of a Nikon 58mm F1.4 lens to achieve his trademark depth and immediacy. Often printed at monumental sizes to immerse the viewer, his images are designed to be experienced at scale. This dedication to detail has helped establish his work as both instantly recognisable and emotionally affecting.
Yarrow’s artistry has been recognised with solo exhibitions in galleries across Europe and the United States, and his works are held in major private collections worldwide. In 2024, he was named one of Artsy’s Top 10 Most Inquired About Artists, the only photographer to appear, underscoring his influence on the global stage.
‘David Yarrow: The Collection’ brings together some of the photographer’s most celebrated images alongside dramatic new releases. Presented in three acts—instinct, performance and allure—visitors will encounter the newest additions to Yarrow’s ‘Wild Life’ series, including commanding portraits of lions, panthers and tigers, as well as theatrical centrepieces such as Bad Asses II (2025), Stratton Oakmont (2025) and Ferrari II (2023). Together, these works reveal Yarrow’s dual worlds: the instinctive pursuit of the wild and the choreographed worlds of his storytelling.
During Frieze Week, Maddox will host an exclusive private tour with David Yarrow and a private book signing. Places are strictly limited and allocated via a ballot—see below for more details.

The volume is arranged chronologically, with Yarrow’s own candid commentary woven throughout the pages. Behind-the-scenes photography offers further insight into the scale and ambition of his shoots. Described by Yarrow himself as “an honest narrative of my personal journey and the strongest body of work I have ever published”, the new book also carries a foreword by the late Robert Redford, an artist Yarrow credits as one of his great influences.
Presented as a hardcover volume in a clamshell box and weighing an impressive 15kg, The Collection is conceived as a collector’s piece—part art object, part retrospective. Each copy includes a digitally signed David Yarrow print of an unreleased black panther photograph. There is also the rare chance for readers to obtain a David Yarrow signature and personalised dedication during the exhibition—see below.
During Frieze Week, Maddox Gallery will host an exclusive private tour of the exhibition with the artist himself, followed by a David Yarrow book signing—an opportunity to talk to the artist and even request a dedication. This intimate event will give a select group of guests the chance to hear Yarrow discuss his latest works before securing a signed copy of his landmark The Collection publication.
Attendance will be strictly limited, with places allocated through a random draw one week prior. The exact date and time will be shared to those invited to attend.
Registration to enter into the private tour & David Yarrow book signing draw is now closed.

Celebrity plays an important role in David Yarrow’s storytelling. From Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne and Alessandra Ambrosio to the footballer Erling Haaland, Yarrow works with cultural icons to heighten the narrative power of his images, transforming them into characters in his larger-than-life stories.
Cindy Crawford described her experience shooting Shotgun Wedding (2019) during a live Q&A at Maddox Gallery in 2022: “My most memorable location would have to be Montana, even though it was 30 below, in the snow, in a car, with a wolf. I thought they were trained movie wolves. I didn’t realise that’s not a thing. You can’t train wild animals! They have a very musky smell and then you’re sitting in the car and they’re like, ‘don’t move a muscle’. Then the trainer started throwing raw chicken to get the wolf to look at the camera....”
That anecdote captures both the scale of Yarrow’s productions and his uncompromising pursuit of the perfect shot. Whether working with wolves in sub-zero conditions or orchestrating a meeting between Cara Delivigne and a cheetah in the Kanaan desert in Namibia, he casts celebrities into cinematic worlds of his making, blending Hollywood spectacle with fine art precision.
His ability to attract high-profile collaborators also extends to collectors. NFL legend Tom Brady, who wrote the foreword for one of Yarrow’s previous books, owns several pieces, while Leonardo DiCaprio and Oprah Winfrey count his works among their private collections. This combination of celebrity, collector prestige and global visibility has cemented Yarrow’s position as one of the most authoritative voices in photography today.
Once Upon a Time on Wall Street (2023)
For collectors considering whether to invest in David Yarrow, the evidence is compelling. Over the past decade, Yarrow has established himself as a photographer of global significance, with limited-edition prints that combine emotional power, scarcity and strong market performance.
Every image captured by the photographer David Yarrow is produced in strictly limited editions, typically 12 large-format prints. Prices rise as availability diminishes, making scarcity a consistent driver of value. In 2023, Maddox clients who invested in Yarrow realised an average profit of 33%, with certain works performing even more strongly. For example, The Siberians resold at +67% above its original price, while The Wolf of Main Street II achieved an impressive +92%.

Investment in Yarrow’s work is about more than numbers, however. For its institutional recognition and proven value trajectory, his photography sits comfortably alongside blue chip art names such as Cindy Sherman and Richard Avedon. Coupled with his roster of high-profile collectors, Yarrow’s work offers rare credibility in both cultural and financial terms.
Since the outset, Maddox Gallery has been Yarrow’s UK representative, hosting large-scale exhibitions such as David Yarrow: The Collection and giving collectors the opportunity to buy David Yarrow images directly. With a proven track record of guiding clients to exceptional returns, and a dedicated David Yarrow gallery space at our Shepherd Market address, we believe his photography remains one of the most compelling propositions in the art market today.
