Contemporary artist Cooper has been our exclusive ‘Artist in Residence’ for the last six-months, creating a colourful collection of artwork in our Shepherd Market Gallery ahead of his show ‘A Closer Look’ opening in June 2024.

Bringing everyday domesticity to high art, Cooper’s works represent the joy he finds in the minutiae of life. Born and raised in Evansville, Indiana, he is at the forefront of a new generation of painters who are elevating the everyday into an art form. Known for his alternative approach to still life, the positive aura that radiates from Cooper’s canvases is communicated through his bright, bold colour palette, the hypnotic patterns that are his signature and the joyful subject matters he chooses to paint.

Cooper made his debut with the sell-out show ‘Wild Noise’ at Maddox Westbourne Grove in 2022. In July 2023, he captivated audiences once again with a second solo exhibition, ‘Wild Life’, at Maddox Gstaad.
