Biography

"Being dissatisfied makes you greedy in front of a canvas."

Alessandro Florio’s initial approach to painting was a magnetic and instinctive experience. Despite never having formally studied art, he gradually built his confidence, refining his craft day by day.

Today, Florio's work is defined by a shift from introspective and sterile logic to a more conceptual perspective. His contemporary style embraces reduction—streamlining subjects, softening forms, and distilling details to their essence.

In 2023, Alessandro held his first solo exhibition, Window to the South, at the historic Palace of the ex-Magistrates’ Court in Taormina. Later that year, he exhibited nine works with the Gitano Faena Group during Art Basel in Miami.

In December 2024, Alessandro participated in Art Miami during Art Basel, presenting three paintings, all of which were sold within two days.
