Flexible (1984/2016) was released as part of an 85-screen print edition original masterpiece in acrylic and oil stick on wood. Flexible depicts the figure of Basquiat as a tribal king with his arms raised and interlocked above his head, conveying confidence and authority. Basquiat’s quote on Flexible: “The arms took a nice shape, they fused together in a single curve.” The original artwork was auctioned for $45.3M on May 17th, 2018 in New York, and has been exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Musee d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, and the Fondation Beyeler.
