Works by Damien Hirst: Life, Death, and Colour

28 November 2024 – 13 January 2025

About the EXHIBITION

We are delighted to present Life, Death, and Colour, an exhibition that showcases works by Damien Hirst on the first floor of our Berkeley Street Gallery.
Renowned for his daring exploration of themes such as religion, the impermanence of human existence, and the passage of time, Hirst’s work embodies both beauty and profound reflection.

This independently curated selection includes notable pieces, such as Chenodeoxycholic Acid, from Hirst’s career-defining Spot series, and For the Love of God, Shine; that explores the themes of mortality and values, and which depicts the infamous 2007 sculpture. Our display highlights the depth and range of Hirst’s artistic practice, featuring bold screen prints with diamond dust and finely detailed etchings that captivate with their intricacy.

Each piece in this collection invites you to engage with Hirst’s recurring motifs of science, medicine, and spirituality. Works such as Ethidium Bromide Aqueous Solution and Histidyl illustrate his complex explorations of colour and form, blending the precision of scientific imagery with the concentration of abstract art. These works are more than visual experiences; they offer reflections on human fragility and resilience.

We invite you to step into our gallery to experience this fascinating show, where each piece stands as a narrative, yet collectively conveys Hirst’s unique and gripping artistic vision. Witness the dynamic interplay of art, science, and philosophy, captured in homage to one of Britain’s most influential and iconic contemporary artists.
