Mulgil Kim: Green Melody, Blue Poem
22 May – 19 June 2024
About the EXHIBITION
‘Green Melody, Blue Poem’ brings together a new body of work by Mulgil Kim, in which nature becomes a quiet space for feelings to rest. Across moonlit nights and drifting skies, her paintings unfold as soft, enclosed worlds where emotion is not explained, but simply allowed to exist.
Green returns again and again, holding a sense of calm and shelter, while blue moves through the work as air and distance, carrying a trace of the past. Together, they become what she refers to as “a score without notes, a poem without words.”
“There are emotions that cannot be fully held in words. I borrow the pure form of nature to carry and convey them.” This feeling stays near, where trees stand in stillness, curtains open onto moonlight and seasons shift within a single space, each moment unfolding quietly. Nature listens, holding what cannot be said.
This exhibition brings together a new body of work in which fleeting moments pass, yet a gentle presence remains. What endures is what the artist describes as “a green melody and a single line of poetry,” a delicate warmth that lingers with you beyond the canvas.
