About Mulgil Kim

Mulgil Kim is a South Korean artist celebrated for her deeply personal and introspective approach to painting, characterised by serene, nature-inspired themes.

Her artistic journey, prominently marked by her expansive 'Art Road' project, began with an intense desire to experience and express the world beyond traditional studio boundaries. Over 673 days, Kim traversed five continents and 46 countries, documenting her experiences and emotions through art. Upon returning to Korea, she continued her artistic exploration domestically through the 'National Art Road' initiative, vividly capturing Korea's seasonal beauty and the humanity of its people.

Nature remains at the heart of Kim's artwork, representing not merely a backdrop but an emotional language that breathes life into her creations. Her paintings, distinguished by lush green hues, invite viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the quieter aspects of their inner selves and the natural world. Kim believes in art as a gentle dialogue, fostering connections through shared emotional landscapes rather than fixed narratives.

Kim has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions across Korea, including notable presentations at PBG Gallery, Arte K Gallery, and CICA Museum of Art. Her achievements have been recognized through prestigious awards and selections by institutions like the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, and the CICA Museum of Art.
