About INAE

INAE's practice revolves around the performative act of layering paint, where each brushstroke accumulates the emotions of the moment alongside the fading traces of memory. This process becomes a way of recording the passage of time on the surface. The shifting thickness of pigment catches and reflects light differently depending on its angle, embodying the artist’s belief that memory—like her work—constantly transforms in relation to its environment.

Her exploration unfolds across three interconnected series: Memory, where golden circles retrieve and reinterpret past moments; Gaze, reflecting her present self as it interacts with contemporary perspectives; and Reverence, envisioning resilience in the face of future challenges.

Gold, a recurring motif, symbolises both material affluence and human desire, encapsulating the dualities of human nature. By embracing this duality, INAE positions her work as both a medium of self-reflection and a visual record of lived time. Her paintings invite viewers beyond surface appreciation, offering contemplative encounters with memory, resilience, and the complexities of human experience.
